Description: This class will build a new 3-5 minutes of stand-up comedy from scratch. Whether you’re new to performing or a veteran stand-up, all are welcome to come work in a collaborative writers room. This supportive environment will foster creativity and focus on decreasing stress with fun writing techniques.

This hands-on class uses a live writing, group feedback, writing exercises, on-stage practice and guided micro-drafting to leave the student with original material, and a digital recording of their live showcase from the historic Rockwell Theater in Davis Sq.

About the teacher: Named best comedian by Boston Magazine in 2016, Gary Petersen has written and performed around the world for over 20 years. Amazon, Sirius XM. This instructor is a veteran of teaching comedy writing and performing working at The Pack Theater Los Angeles, The Yard Theater LA, Laugh Boston, Improv Boston and now the Rockwell Theater.
