R.D. King is an award-winning composer and performer of instrumental acoustic guitar music. Captivating and energetic on stage, he blends traditional fingerstyle techniques with guitar pyrotechnics to create cinematic and evocative music. King has placed in numerous competitions for songwriting and performance, including as the winner of the 2017 Canadian Guitar Festival’s International Fingerstyle Guitar Competition and as a finalist for the 2023 International Acoustic Music Awards (Instrumental Category). King draws inspiration from his educational work as a UMass Boston associate lecturer, JamPlay.com instructor, and TEDx Cambridge performer. Tonight, King celebrates the release of his latest solo guitar project Songs of Spring (Candyrat Records), the triumphant final installment in the Seasons tetralogy.

Acoustic double-neck guitarist and Candyrat recording artist Ian Ethan Case (Boston, USA) is quickly becoming recognized as “one of the most creative and engaging fingerstyle guitarists in the world” (International Center for Creativity.) His unmistakable, one-of-a-kind playing style and compositional voice has drawn praise from icons like guitarist John McLaughlin (Mahavishnu Orchestra), bassist Lee Sklar (James Taylor), Windham Hill Records founder Will Ackermann, and Fingerstyle guitar legend Don Ross, who declared his live performance “some of the most massively inventive musicianship I’ve ever heard/seen.” Other listeners have described his music as a cross between Michael Hedges, Steve Reich, and Pat Metheny.

He has crafted and refined his unique voice and his live performance over the course of many hundreds of concerts throughout the US and Canada, and has also played in Norway, Sweden, Estonia, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, and Italy. Following his 2018 album “Earth Suite” (Candyrat Records) which featured a total of 12 guest musicians, Case’s 2023 performances mark a return to the solo format, newly expanded with the incorporation of organ pedals, foot percussion, and cutting-edge electronic capabilities all tastefully integrated into his masterful acoustic playing.
