A sci-fi legal drama that explores themes of women’s empowerment, artificial intelligence, queerness, and trans rights.

Join us for Rebecca Petchenik’s new play KAIT, a queer sci-fi love story about a sex robot who is put on trial for the murder of her abusive owner.

Rebecca Petchenik writes, “I’ve lived my entire life in service of storytelling.” Her new play “KAIT” starts with an incredible one – a sex bot who murders her abusive owner. “KAIT” is set in the near future, where true artificial intelligence is discovered in Kait, the animatronic sex doll. The doll’s original programmer and her attorney must fight for Kait’s right to autonomy, or else Kait will face destruction at the hands of the state, and from the clutches of a greedy robotics corporation.

Produced by Kimberly Dauber and Hear Me Out Productions. Written and directed by Rebecca Petchenik. Starring Clara Tan, Kimberly Dauber, and Imani Powell.

Still in effect as of June 1, 2022, everyone age 5 and up entering The Rockwell (at 255 Elm Street, Somerville) must show proof of full vaccination. This includes all staff, audience, cast and crew attending and/or performing at The Rockwell.

In addition, we will require all guests to wear masks while with us during performances. This includes hallways, lobby, bar area, restrooms, and once you are seated. You may remove your mask when actively sipping on that tasty beverage from the bar but mask back up once you’re done. We’ll have zero tolerance of noses in public spaces.

Be aware that these guidelines are ever-changing and if anything changes we will be in touch. Let’s all do our part to stop the spread and keep one another healthy. #MaskUP
