EconLOL: an Economics-Themed Comedy Show

EconLOL is the world’s first, best, and only economics-themed powerpoint comedy variety show. A monthly live show in NYC, this is EconLOL’s Boston debut.

Comedian and Economist Luke Strathmann takes on the world of economics with a whirlwind show. He will reveal the secrets that economists have been holding from us since Adam Smith first put pen to paper, whlie addressing some of the greatest economic questions of our time: Where does money come from? Why are movies so expensive? How on earth did someone sell a Beanie Baby for seven million dollars? Why was that person not him?

ARTIST BIO:

Luke Strathmann runs the communications team at Yale’s Department of Economics, where he’s Editor-in-Chief of the Yale Economics Magazine. He’s previously worked for MIT and Princeton’s economics departments, the World Bank, the UN, Omidyar Network, and the AI Now Institute. His humor writing has appeared in The New Yorker and McSweeney’s, and he performs comedy at clubs all around NYC. He is the host of EconLOL, the world’s first, best, and only live economics-themed comedy show.
