Boston Comedy Festival Comedy Contest: Semifinal Round 1

The field is down to 32. Tonight, 8 comedians get their shot at the finals.
After 96 comedians came to Boston to compete in the Boston Comedy Festival Comedy Competition, the first round is over, and the competition is getting serious. Eight semifinalists take the stage, each hoping to deliver the set that gets them one step closer to the championship and $7,000 in prize money.

Semifinalist lineup will be announced as comedians advance from the preliminary rounds.

Hosted by Rebecca Donohue:
Rebecca Donohue has appeared on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, Shorties Watchin’ Shorties and Logo’s One Night Stand Up, and has performed comedy everywhere from Edinburgh to Navy bases around the world.

As a producer, Rebecca has worked with some of comedy’s biggest names and developed projects with comedians including Theo Von, Joe DeRosa, Tone Bell and Al Jackson.

Closing Out the Show: Andrew Mayer:
Andrew Mayer is a Boston-area comedian known for his sharp observations, energetic delivery and distinctly relatable take on modern life. A familiar face on the New England comedy scene, Andrew brings the kind of comedy that feels conversational one minute and completely unexpected the next.

We will seat you if there is an opener but once the headliner starts, you may be allowed to sit in the lobby but will not be allowed to enter.
