Smoke & Shadows: Burlesque and Variety Show
April 2, 2018
Beyond the bright marquees and dim speakeasy, there is a timeless place where bouncy vaudeville meets soulful sounds and fresh comedy meets the glint of rhinestones. Smoke & Shadows is the Rockwell’s monthly burlesque and variety show that defies decade and genre, each time offering a new mix of performers from near and far.
On April 2, the sounds of smoky jazz and mariachi will burst to life like daffodils with our first Spring edition of the year. Come laugh, cheer, and groove with these artists who will put some pep in your step for weeks to come:
*Sharp surprises and mysterious desires incarnated from traveling sideshow and burlesque artist Bette Machete
*Vintage glamour and modern hairography from the all-American sweetheart Pearl Buttons
*Insight, wit, storytelling, and politics from comedian Kwasi Mensah
*Classic ballads, modern R&B, and silky Spanish verse from songstress Carla Corazón and guitarist Bradford Beard
These incredible artists are in the same room for one night only!
