Alfred Be Loud is a Boston-based indie rock band blending atmospheric guitar textures with gritty, emotional songwriting.
Built around the lead guitar work of Matthew Hurst and the vocals and rhythm guitar of Jen “Benni” Forgit, the band has carved out a signature sound that feels like a fresh take on a 90’s rock aesthetic.
Influenced by the indie, alt-rock, and punk scenes of the ’80s and ’90s—drawing inspiration from bands like The Pixies, Bikini Kill, and Queens of the Stone Age—Alfred Be Loud balances atmosphere with bite. Their original songs, including “Tell Your Story” and “Irish Goodbye,” showcase a band unafraid to be loud, vulnerable, and unmistakably themselves.
The Trouble with Happy Endings
In a world that offers comfort at every turn, it’s easy to keep moving rather than sit with what hurts. In this one-man musical comedy, Riley Duggan explores how grief, fantasy, and compulsive coping can quietly intertwine. Through original music, humor, and intimate storytelling, the show traces a growing reliance on distraction and imagined intimacy—and what happens when fantasy starts to feel safer than reality. By examining addiction not as spectacle but as a survival strategy, the piece asks how we learn to stay present when escape is always available.
