SUMMARY:SlapSchtick & Spare Tire
DESCRIPTION:SlapSchtick & Spare Tire\nTwo shows in one hour!\nSlapSchtick\nSlapSchtick has been bringing the Borscht Belt to you since 2023! Made up of Greater Boston’s funniest Jews\, we add a little something Semitic to classic improv\, original sketches\, and more than a little singing. \nCome laugh with us as we celebrate our 4\,000 years of history\, one Schtick at a time. \nNot Jewish? That’s okay\, we aren’t mad! We aim to please our audience regardless of culture or ideology. Welcome to the SlapSchtick Mishpacha! Don’t know what that means? Come to the show and just ask! \nIG: @SlapSchtick_Comedy\nemail: SlapSchtickBoston@gmail.com \nPerformers: \nAri Goldberg – @arithelionking – Bio: Ari Goldberg is a Boston based improviser\, comedian\, podcaster\, and producer. He is a long time member of Improv Asylum’s house teams and worked with their NXT cast for a while too. He has produced and starred in over 175 episodes of his own narrative comedy podcast Crews Control along with a handful of other wildly entertaining comedy podcasts. Ari is proud to share his goofy style of humor with whoever will listen and is always ready to do bits. Ari has four Jewish parents and therefore twice the Jewish guilt. \nBo Segrest – @bo_segrest – Bio: Bo Segrest is a writer and comedian based in Boston\, MA. He has performed on house teams at Improv Asylum\, Harold nights at Union Comedy\, with Slapschtick\, and is the understudy for Improv Asylum’s NXT show. He is also the executive producer of Modern Exhibits: a sketch comedy podcast\, and he is the co-editor of Yesterday’s Magazine (a local print comedy publication.) When he is not doing comedy\, Bo can be found drinking and frolicking. His parents are also divorced. \nEmma Hobbs – @no_emma – Bio: Emma Hobbs has been making Jewish jokes across the continental US since she could first say “my tummy hurts.” Emma’s known for never stopping talking about her Jewish Summer Camp and calling people antisemitic when they talk about Christmas. Emma has performed with Improv teams and studios across the Greater-Boston area. She’s a member of Stop That Baby!\, Improv Asylum’s House Teams\, and Union Comedy’s Clyde. Emma never learned to read Hebrew without vowels\, so she memorized her Torah portion. If you ask nicely\, she’ll recite it for you. \nLeah Dodell – @leahjoyvey – Bio: Leah Dodell is a recovering theater kid originally from Atlanta\, Georgia. She started doing improv in college and now performs on House Teams at Improv Asylum and with SlapSchtick. Although she was born and raised in the leisurely South\, her New York Jewish parents ensured she still gained a healthy dose of neuroticism. \nSarah Zeiberg – @sarahisaniceberg – Bio: Sarah Zeiberg loves to make crowds laugh\, despite her parents being happily married. Sarah has been doing improv since middle school\, holds a B.A. in theatre\, and has appeared in Improv Asylum House Teams. \nAddy Gover – @addy_ghg – Bio: Addy Gover is a writer and comedian. You can see them perform at Improv Asylum on various casts and understudying for the MainStage. Feel free to talk to them after the show! \nSpare Tire Presents: the Good\, the Bad\, and the Dipstick\nBo\, Emma\, and August have all been competing for each others’ attention for years. Their sketch comedy explores themes of loneliness\, exclusion\, and an alien species laying eggs in your lower intestine. \n@bo_segrest is excluded from the group because Emma and August are dating each other. \n@augustkees is excluded from the group because Bo and Emma worked for the same ghost tours company years ago. \n@emmaeskinner is excluded from the group because she’s not one of the boys. \nTogether\, they are all local comedians who are part of a pending lawsuit against the Pep Boys in Everett. \nLocation: The Rockwell \nShow Times: \nSat May 16 @ 12:40 PM\nSun May 17 @ 4:40 PM \nSeeing more than one show\, think about the Festival Pass! For $75 you can see all the shows!

SUMMARY:PSA: Pelvic Service Announcement
DESCRIPTION:PSA: Pelvic Service Announcement\nPresented by the Boston Fringe Festival\nWhen an uptight mom of teens seeks help for some diffuse midsection issues\, she discovers her ignorance about her body’s most basic functions – in spite of her OB/GYN father! Veltman shares it all in this raw and ridiculous extravaganza featuring unhinged characters\, music\, videos\, and a medically unsanctioned chart. If you’re reading this\, you have a pelvic floor; you’ll leave this brisk comedy knowing why it matters. \nAmy Veltman is a New York City comedian and storyteller who’s performed and hosted comedy shows and fundraising events across the country. She has an MFA in Filmmaking from NYU with honors in screenwriting. Amy was the producer and co-host of a weekly podcast\, 2 Moms on The Couch\, which\, like her comedy\, features her edgy take on motherhood\, marriage\, and being an outsider in an insider’s world. She lives with her husband and has two kids who are legal adults\, but it sounds weird to say she has two legal adults. SUMMARY:Uncle Yak and his Magic Comeback
DESCRIPTION:Uncle Yak and his Magic Comeback\nPresented by the Boston Fringe Festival\nWhat happens when a comedy magician attempts a comeback after fifteen years of “regular life”? You get Uncle Yak\, an award-winning magician with quick wit\, jaw-dropping illusions\, and just enough mischief to keep you guessing. Once a beloved performer across the Northeast\, Uncle Yak returns to the stage after years of PTA meetings\, office coffee pods\, and whatever else passes for adulthood. SUMMARY:Dan LaMorte
DESCRIPTION:Dan LaMorte\n\nDan LaMorte is a distinct voice in stand-up comedy—and not just because he’s on the spectrum. He began his comedy career at 19\, after a college baseball injury ended his athletic ambitions. Dan made appearances on Fox’s Red Eye\, AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live\, Getting Doug with High\, and\, as he jokes\, nearly every drive-thru in the Tri-state area. His two albums\, Not Enough Pieces and Infect Me Once\, remain popular on SiriusXM and have collectively earned over a million streams on Pandora. \nBy 23\, Dan had built a promising comedy résumé—and a 354-pound body. But a diagnosis of fatty liver disease sparked a dramatic lifestyle change. Over the next three years\, he lost more than 185 pounds\, became an ultra runner (competing in races longer than marathons)\, and inspired countless fans to pursue their own wellness journeys. The transformation may have reshaped his life\, but his sharp\, self-aware humor remains unchanged. \nIn 2023\, Dan was selected as a New Face at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. He followed it up with a standout Don’t Tell Comedyset\, released in 2024. Based in New York City\, Dan is a regular at the Comedy Cellar\, The Stand\, and other top clubs—continuing to bring his unique perspective\, resilience\, and punchlines to audiences nationwide. \n\nTimeline: \nDOORS: 6:15 PM \nSHOW: 7:00 PM \nAge Limit: This event is 21+ \nID: Valid ID required for Entry \nLimited Late Seating: Due to the architecture of our space\, the entrance is next to the stage and it is disruptive to the performer to enter late.
