SUMMARY:Boston in 12 Massacres Part II
DESCRIPTION:Boston in 12 Massacres Part II\n\nA four part\, darkly humorous examination of how f***ed up Boston’s history can be\, and how we used to just end each other’s lives all the time. Presented on May 6th\, Part Two tells the story of the actual Boston Massacre\, the Great Fire of 1872\, and the Boylton Mall T Explosion of 1897. No need to have seen Part One in order to enjoy these stories! Local Storyteller and social media historian Daniel Berger-Jones recounts a scintillating\, shocking\, and irreverent narrative of the facts and then discusses them with a panel of local comedians and performers. Audience members will have the opportunity to compete against the panel for $2 scratch lotto ticket prizes\, or to sit passively and drink while being horrified and amused in an evening of history\, ridicule\, ribald toasts\, drinking games\, singing\, and romping good times. All of this while discussing morbid violence\, so if you’re easily offended\, or a small and sensitive child\, this show is not for you. This performance runs approximately 75 minutes. \n\n  \nTIX ADVANCE: $10-$15\nTIX DAY OF: $20 \n  \n\n\nTimeline: \nDOORS: 6:15 PM \nSHOW: 7:00 PM \nAge Limit: This event is All Ages \nID: Valid ID required for alcoholic drinks \nLimited Late Seating: Due to the architecture of our space\, the entrance is next to the stage and it is disruptive to the performer to enter late. SUMMARY:The Tuneabomber (Late Show)
DESCRIPTION:The Tuneabomber\nSecond show added due to popular demand!\n  \nSet at a parole board hearing\, Ted Kaczynski (aka The Unabomber) recounts his life through song in the hope of proving that he never wanted to be a monster\, he only wanted to be a star. While he may have spent years sending explosives\, this is one performance Ted can’t bomb.\n  \nWritten and performed by John Lampe and Michael Wysong\, this new musical comedy dares to ask the question no one needed an answer to: What if this notorious eco-terrorist was the next Bob Fosse?\n  \n  \nMichael Wysong is a Manhattan-based musical theatre composer and lyricist who was described by Cabaret Scenes as “a wry and clever songwriter and political satirist in the tradition of Tom Lehrer…a major talent to be kept track of.” His work has been performed at cabaret venues and theatres throughout New York City\, including the Triad Theatre and Feinstein’s/54 Below. Recent credits include new music for a production of Marat/Sade\, music and sound design for Macbeth (New York Shakespeare Company)\, and music and sound design for Aunt Jack (Theater for the New City). He also wrote the book and lyrics for a new adaptation of The Revenger’s Tragedy\, music and lyrics for the song cycle Love is…\, and contributed a song to CHANGEMAKERS with Tony Nominated lyricist Bill Russell for their shared alma mater\, The University of Kansas.\n\n  \n\nJohn Lampe is a director\, writer\, and performer. His work has been seen across the US and in Europe. In New York\, he has worked with companies such as Urban Stages\, New Circle Theatre\, Frog and Peach Theatre\, and ANDTheatre\, where he served as Artistic Director. SUMMARY:@ ALT VENUE* A Tall Girl's Lament & Charlie's Spring
DESCRIPTION:A Tall Girl’s Lament & Charlie’s Spring\n2 shows in 1 hour! \n\n\nA Tall Girl’s Lament\n\n\nIn this laugh-out-loud musical parody\, Lauren Schultes battles bad dates\, ruthless casting calls\, and a world that insists she’s more “evil queen” than “girl next door.” Featuring original parody songs from “Wicked\,” “Les Mis\,” and more\, “A Tall Girl’s Lament” follows one woman’s journey to land the leading role\, both on the stage & in her love life. \n\n\n \n\n\n“A Tall Girl’s Lament” has appeared at NYC’s SOLOCOM (New York’s oldest solo performance festival)\, The PIT Loft (NYC)\, The Playground Theater (Chicago) and the Napoleon Room (Boston). \n\n\nStanding tall at 5’11\, Lauren Schultes is a Boston-based performer recognized for her brilliant vocals\, witty parodies\, and captivating stage presence. From intimate cabarets to world premiere musicals and comedy festivals\, she has performed across the U.S.\, Mexico\, and Europe for two decades. Follow her for more @laurenschultes_music / www.laurenschultes.com.\n\n\n \n\n\nCharlie’s Spring\n\n\n\nMany of us spend our lives in a mask—one that blurs or hides who we are—in order to fit in\, to survive\, to avoid being vulnerable\, and the list goes on. We perform: who others want us to be\, who others say we should be\, who we think we ought to be based on the possibility for acceptance and survival. These performances range from small to large\, and from moments to a lifetime. Underneath is our vulnerability\, our inner child\, and our struggle to just be ourselves (when it is safe to do so). \nThis one-human show is about understanding\, embracing\, and expressing our most authentic Selves through one of the greatest tools at our disposal: the art of creation. While the title is quite inspired by Alice Oseman’s Heartstopper\, the essence of “Charlie’s Spring” connects to the experience of my personal Spring—a time of rebirth\, blossoming\, and the peeking out of sunshine after a harsh Winter. While it is modeled after and inspired by themes like gender\, sexuality\, neurotype\, trauma\, personality\, and relationships\, there are infinite ways it can connect to anyone’s journey into authenticity. It might be largely my story\, but it’s one we all share: wanting to be accepted and celebrated for who we are\, and finding the little pockets we can do this in. Our most authentic and loving Selves are just waiting to be created. \n\n\n \n\nShow Times:\n\n\nMon May 11 @ 6:00 PM – DRAGON PIZZA\n\n\nSat May 16 @ 8:40 PM – DENTE’S BARBER SHOP\n\n\n\n\n\n**CHECK THE LOCATION – EACH SHOW IS DIFFERENT! \n\n\n \n\n\nDRAGON PIZZA will be at “DRAGON’S LAIR” to the left of Dragon Pizza\n\n\n233 Elm St\, Somerville\, MA 02144 \n\n\n \n\n\nDENTE’S BARBER SHOP \n\n\n417 Highland Ave\, Somerville\, MA 02144\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSeeing more than one show\, think about the Festival Pass! This piece explores the challenge of dealing with daily life tasks\, while struggling to understand the way your brain is working.\nSince it’s first iteration\, Tess has been diagnosed with ADHD and is finally making sense of the way her brain works. In this version of the piece\, Tess seeks to explore the next phase of understanding your brain: once you know and acknowledge the problems and/or limitations\, how do you move forward to accept and embrace yourself? \nIn A Minute features Eliza Owen-Smith\, Abigail Dube\, Audrey Abraham\, Heidi Ho\, Joselyn Gil\, Sanaya Mistry\, Shawna Upton\, Katie Logan\, Shirin Kuppusamy\, Kelsey Clausing\, and Aarti Lamberg. \nCompany Instagram: @tesssaoirsedancecompany // Choreographer Instagram: @tess.saoirse \nCompany Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/p/Tess-Saoirse-Dance-Company-61552535162272/ \nWebsite: https://www.tesssaoirsedancecompany.com/ \n\nThe Importance of Being Haunted \nWhen a wannabe spiritualist stages a midnight ghost show straight out of vaudeville’s heyday—complete with ectoplasm\, floating tables\, and campy spectacle—to contact her deceased actress grandmother\, they wrestles with the hardest trick of all: communing with something they don’t think exists. SUMMARY:The Cloud Collector
DESCRIPTION:The Cloud Collector\nPresented by the Boston Fringe Festival\nThe Cloud Collector is a new trans fantasy rock musical that moves between real and imagined worlds\, blending songs\, instrumental interludes\, and narration with orchestration and foley. \nJune Beiser is a writer\, visual artist\, and musician based in Somerville\, MA. \nSince 2020\, she has been developing a project called The Cloud Collector\, which is rooted in her lived experience as a trans person and has iterated from illustrations and poetry into a vibrant sonic world that currently takes the form of a musical. In 2023\, June discovered her transness and began creating this show as a way of processing her experience. \nBeginning in January 2025\, June made a concerted effort to turn The Cloud Collector into a musical\, and the result is an amalgamation of work that has been kept in motion through constant transformation. In January 2026\, the show was produced through grassroots community effort\, as June worked with a team of musicians\, actors\, and businesses who generously offered their time and resources to produce a sold-out community event at the Rockwell Theater in Davis Square. \nInstagram: @who_is_the_cloud_collector @jooneytunes23 \nYouTube: June Beiser: The World of Beanz” \nLocation: The Rockwell \nShow Times: \nTue May 12 @ 7:05 PM\nThu May 14 @ 8:10 PM\nSat May 16 @ 11:25 PM \nSeeing more than one show\, think about the Festival Pass! SUMMARY:Keeping Secrets
DESCRIPTION:Keeping Secrets\nPresented by the Boston Fringe Festival\nSecrets are all around us—secrets that can be powerful in both positive and destructive ways. \nKeeping Secrets is an engaging\, moving\, and hopeful one-person show that explores the links between what magicians do and what child sexual abusers do. Based on actual events in the Boston area from the 1970s to today\, this unusual performance combines acting\, visuals\, and a magic trick or two. The show explores how traumatic experiences can be transformed into positive action. \nWriter and performer Jim Vetter spent over 20 years performing internationally as a professional magician\, mime\, and actor before shifting his career to focus on improving the lives of all young people socially and emotionally. Jim’s performing career took him from street performing in Harvard Square to Fisherman’s Wharf; to night clubs in Miami and Quito\, Ecuador; to collaborating with author George Plympton to creating a piece performed at Harvard Stadium; to representing the United States at the Celebration ‘90 Gay Games Cultural festival in Vancouver. Keeping Secrets represents Jim’s triumphant return to performing\, with the most personally meaningful show in his career. \nPreview audiences call Keeping Secrets: \n“Amazing” “Riveting” “Raw” “Funny” “Hopeful” “Should be on Netflix” \nwww.keepingsecrets.show\n@KeepingSecretsShow \nLocation: The Rockwell \nShow Times: \nTue May 12 @ 8:10 PM\nThu May 14 @ 7:05 PM\nSat May 16 @ 10:20 PM \nSeeing more than one show\, think about the Festival Pass! SUMMARY:@ALT VENUE* Indie rock with Alfred Be Loud & The Trouble with Happy Endings
DESCRIPTION:Indie rock with Alfred Be Loud & The Trouble with Happy Endings\n2 shows in 1 hour!\n\n\n\nIndie rock with Alfred Be Loud \nAlfred Be Loud is a Boston-based indie rock band blending atmospheric guitar textures with gritty\, emotional songwriting. \nBuilt around the lead guitar work of Matthew Hurst and the vocals and rhythm guitar of Jen “Benni” Forgit\, the band has carved out a signature sound that feels like a fresh take on a 90’s rock aesthetic. \nInfluenced by the indie\, alt-rock\, and punk scenes of the ’80s and ’90s—drawing inspiration from bands like The Pixies\, Bikini Kill\, and Queens of the Stone Age—Alfred Be Loud balances atmosphere with bite. Their original songs\, including “Tell Your Story” and “Irish Goodbye\,” showcase a band unafraid to be loud\, vulnerable\, and unmistakably themselves. \nThe Trouble with Happy Endings \n\n\n In a world that offers comfort at every turn\, it’s easy to keep moving rather than sit with what hurts. In this one-man musical comedy\, Riley Duggan explores how grief\, fantasy\, and compulsive coping can quietly intertwine. Through original music\, humor\, and intimate storytelling\, the show traces a growing reliance on distraction and imagined intimacy—and what happens when fantasy starts to feel safer than reality. By examining addiction not as spectacle but as a survival strategy\, the piece asks how we learn to stay present when escape is always available. Riley Duggan is a NYC/Boston-based performer and writer whose work blends comedy and vulnerability to make room for honesty without shame.
