DESCRIPTION:In A Minute & The Importance of Being Haunted\n2 shows in 1 hour! \n\n\n\n\nIn A Minute \nAfter dancing for 16 years\, Tess Saoirse Liddy had to take 2 years away from dance due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Losing the structure of traditional schooling\, coupled with the pandemic\, and her first year as a public school teacher\, Tess found that she was questioning the way her mind was processing information and impeding her functioning in daily life. This piece explores the challenge of dealing with daily life tasks\, while struggling to understand the way your brain is working.\nSince it’s first iteration\, Tess has been diagnosed with ADHD and is finally making sense of the way her brain works. In this version of the piece\, Tess seeks to explore the next phase of understanding your brain: once you know and acknowledge the problems and/or limitations\, how do you move forward to accept and embrace yourself? \nIn A Minute features Eliza Owen-Smith\, Abigail Dube\, Audrey Abraham\, Heidi Ho\, Joselyn Gil\, Sanaya Mistry\, Shawna Upton\, Katie Logan\, Shirin Kuppusamy\, Kelsey Clausing\, and Aarti Lamberg. \nCompany Instagram: @tesssaoirsedancecompany // Choreographer Instagram: @tess.saoirse \nCompany Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/p/Tess-Saoirse-Dance-Company-61552535162272/ \nWebsite: https://www.tesssaoirsedancecompany.com/ \n\nThe Importance of Being Haunted \nWhen a wannabe spiritualist stages a midnight ghost show straight out of vaudeville’s heyday—complete with ectoplasm\, floating tables\, and campy spectacle—to contact her deceased actress grandmother\, they wrestles with the hardest trick of all: communing with something they don’t think exists. SUMMARY:The Cloud Collector
DESCRIPTION:The Cloud Collector\nPresented by the Boston Fringe Festival\nThe Cloud Collector is a new trans fantasy rock musical that moves between real and imagined worlds\, blending songs\, instrumental interludes\, and narration with orchestration and foley. \nJune Beiser is a writer\, visual artist\, and musician based in Somerville\, MA. \nSince 2020\, she has been developing a project called The Cloud Collector\, which is rooted in her lived experience as a trans person and has iterated from illustrations and poetry into a vibrant sonic world that currently takes the form of a musical. In 2023\, June discovered her transness and began creating this show as a way of processing her experience. \nBeginning in January 2025\, June made a concerted effort to turn The Cloud Collector into a musical\, and the result is an amalgamation of work that has been kept in motion through constant transformation. In January 2026\, the show was produced through grassroots community effort\, as June worked with a team of musicians\, actors\, and businesses who generously offered their time and resources to produce a sold-out community event at the Rockwell Theater in Davis Square. \nInstagram: @who_is_the_cloud_collector @jooneytunes23 \nYouTube: June Beiser: The World of Beanz” \nLocation: The Rockwell \nShow Times: \nTue May 12 @ 7:05 PM\nThu May 14 @ 8:10 PM\nSat May 16 @ 11:25 PM \nSeeing more than one show\, think about the Festival Pass! SUMMARY:Keeping Secrets
DESCRIPTION:Keeping Secrets\nPresented by the Boston Fringe Festival\nSecrets are all around us—secrets that can be powerful in both positive and destructive ways. \nKeeping Secrets is an engaging\, moving\, and hopeful one-person show that explores the links between what magicians do and what child sexual abusers do. Based on actual events in the Boston area from the 1970s to today\, this unusual performance combines acting\, visuals\, and a magic trick or two. The show explores how traumatic experiences can be transformed into positive action. \nWriter and performer Jim Vetter spent over 20 years performing internationally as a professional magician\, mime\, and actor before shifting his career to focus on improving the lives of all young people socially and emotionally. Jim’s performing career took him from street performing in Harvard Square to Fisherman’s Wharf; to night clubs in Miami and Quito\, Ecuador; to collaborating with author George Plympton to creating a piece performed at Harvard Stadium; to representing the United States at the Celebration ‘90 Gay Games Cultural festival in Vancouver. Keeping Secrets represents Jim’s triumphant return to performing\, with the most personally meaningful show in his career. \nPreview audiences call Keeping Secrets: \n“Amazing” “Riveting” “Raw” “Funny” “Hopeful” “Should be on Netflix” \nwww.keepingsecrets.show\n@KeepingSecretsShow \nLocation: The Rockwell \nShow Times: \nTue May 12 @ 8:10 PM\nThu May 14 @ 7:05 PM\nSat May 16 @ 10:20 PM \nSeeing more than one show\, think about the Festival Pass! SUMMARY:@ALT VENUE* Indie rock with Alfred Be Loud & The Trouble with Happy Endings
DESCRIPTION:Indie rock with Alfred Be Loud & The Trouble with Happy Endings\n2 shows in 1 hour!\n\n\n\nIndie rock with Alfred Be Loud \nAlfred Be Loud is a Boston-based indie rock band blending atmospheric guitar textures with gritty\, emotional songwriting. \nBuilt around the lead guitar work of Matthew Hurst and the vocals and rhythm guitar of Jen “Benni” Forgit\, the band has carved out a signature sound that feels like a fresh take on a 90’s rock aesthetic. \nInfluenced by the indie\, alt-rock\, and punk scenes of the ’80s and ’90s—drawing inspiration from bands like The Pixies\, Bikini Kill\, and Queens of the Stone Age—Alfred Be Loud balances atmosphere with bite. Their original songs\, including “Tell Your Story” and “Irish Goodbye\,” showcase a band unafraid to be loud\, vulnerable\, and unmistakably themselves. \nThe Trouble with Happy Endings \n\n\n In a world that offers comfort at every turn\, it’s easy to keep moving rather than sit with what hurts. In this one-man musical comedy\, Riley Duggan explores how grief\, fantasy\, and compulsive coping can quietly intertwine. Through original music\, humor\, and intimate storytelling\, the show traces a growing reliance on distraction and imagined intimacy—and what happens when fantasy starts to feel safer than reality. By examining addiction not as spectacle but as a survival strategy\, the piece asks how we learn to stay present when escape is always available. Riley Duggan is a NYC/Boston-based performer and writer whose work blends comedy and vulnerability to make room for honesty without shame. SUMMARY:@ALT VENUE* Forward Thinking & The Dutch Castaway
DESCRIPTION:Forward Thinking & The Dutch Castaway\n2 shows in 1 hour! \n\n\n\n\nForward Thinking \nThis minimalist dystopian short play is a darkly tender exploration of grief\, loneliness\, and the absurd sacrifices we make to feel “alive.” Mr. Bronner\, an elderly man on the verge of a mysterious operation\, moves through a sterile world that treats survival like procedure. As he confronts the loss of his partner and the slow shrinking of his social world\, Mr Bronner’s relationship with himself becomes the central battleground: between dignity and despair\, memory and reinvention\, human need and human exhaustion. Through his bond with his young neighbor Sandy\, his foil in many ways\, the play asks what love looks like when words fail—and whether transformation (spoiler: into the body of his own cat\, “Miss Gloria”!) can be a kind of mercy; choosing what form of life you can bear. \nNora Butler – Nora Butler is a Brooklyn-based director with experience in contemporary\, classical\, and experimental theater (and opera!). As a psychology graduate\, she strives to create character-driven work\, investigative of the inner psyche\, and the socio-emotional complexities of human life. Her passion for ambitious and emotional storytelling extends beyond directing\, into sillier performance settings. Since her early days at Wesleyan University\, Nora has been a lover of improvisational comedy\, wrapped up in ridiculous worldbuilding and absurd characters. When she isn’t directing\, you can find Nora hanging with her cat\, training for a half marathon\, or eating trail mix. @norabutlerr \n\nThe Dutch Castaway \nIn 1725\, a Dutch sailor on a merchant ship was marooned on a deserted island for the crime of sodomy. Months later\, two English sailors discover his diary and translate it for each other there on the beach. While their shipmates search for signs of the man’s fate\, the two sailors read the troubling account of survival\, guilt\, and hallucinations. Through discussing the mystery\, they find profound comfort in each other.\nFeaturing playwright Lawrence Gullo and actor Sebastian Crane \n\n \n\nShow Times:\n\n\nWed May 13 @ 6:00 PM – DRAGON PIZZA\nFri May 15 @ 6:00 PM – DENTE’S BARBER SHOP\n\n\n\n\n\n**CHECK THE LOCATION – EACH SHOW IS DIFFERENT! \n\n\n \n\n\nDRAGON PIZZA will be at “DRAGON’S LAIR” to the left of Dragon Pizza\n\n\n233 Elm St\, Somerville\, MA 02144 \n\n\n \n\n\nDENTE’S BARBER SHOP \n\n\n417 Highland Ave\, Somerville\, MA 02144\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSeeing more than one show\, think about the Festival Pass! SUMMARY:@ALT VENUE* Sitayama: her side of the fire & Becoming Psychic
DESCRIPTION:Sitayama: her side of the fire & Becoming Psychic\n2 shows in 1 hour!\n\nSitayama: her side of the fire \n\nThe Ramayana is a Sanskrit epic over two millennia old\, which teaches core Hindu beliefs of duty\, morality\, and honor. But while Prince Rama’s heroic exile and return made him the “ideal man”\, his wife Sita endured his trials alongside him\, while being kidnapped\, recovered\, and ultimately exiled again by her own\, her fidelity questioned despite her sacrifices. Sita is remembered as the ideal wife — her devotion proven through a literal trial by fire. \nBut what about the story of her resilience through loss? Sitayama reimagines her perspective through a concept concert\, unpacking her emotional journey with original Indian Americana songs rooted in mythology. Beyond the epic\, these songs explore Hindu tenets and ask: what does it mean to be a good woman and what do we lose when our traditional values outweigh our own humanity? \nPayal is a Somerville-based musician of Indian descent who fuses Indian themes with Western folk and punk roots — a genre she calls Indian Americana. Sitayama is her personal inquiry through music: reconciling ancient narratives of gender and duty with her own present-day beliefs. You can find her on Instagram at @soundslikeapayal. \n\n\nBecoming Psychic\nA skeptic begins having psychic experiences and is forced to confront a terrifying possibility: she might be losing her mind. \nAfter accidentally meditating on vacation\, Gada Jane finds herself talking to statues\, consulting the DSM-5\, and doing psychic readings. Becoming Psychic is a darkly funny solo show about doubt\, belief\, and the cultural line between insight and insanity. \n\n\nShow Times:\n\n\nWed May 13 @ 8:40 PM – DRAGON PIZZA\nFri May 15 @ 7:20 PM – DENTE’S BARBER SHOP\n\n\n\n\n\n**CHECK THE LOCATION – EACH SHOW IS DIFFERENT! \n\n\n \n\n\nDRAGON PIZZA will be at “DRAGON’S LAIR” to the left of Dragon Pizza\n\n\n233 Elm St\, Somerville\, MA 02144 \n\n\n \n\n\nDENTE’S BARBER SHOP \n\n\n417 Highland Ave\, Somerville\, MA 02144\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSeeing more than one show\, think about the Festival Pass! SUMMARY:What the Hell Is a 401K?? & Carnival of Sorts
DESCRIPTION:What the Hell Is a 401K?? & Carnival of Sorts\nTwo shows in one hour!\n“What the Hell Is a 401(k)?”– Watch Danya navigate religion\, identity\, bad dates\, and even worse life choices\, all while her bangs block her view of reality (because she hasn’t trimmed them in three months). A 30-minute masterclass on how to succeed in life\, so you too can become a comedian and give pride to the parents who thought you’d go to medical school. \nAbout the artist: Danya Goldstein is a bisexual (90% lesbian\, 10% hopeful) Cuban-Jewish comedian based in New York City. She writes and performs about identity\, family\, dating\, and navigating early adulthood. Catch her live at shows around NYC and follow her on Instagram @danyacomedy \nCarnival of Sorts \nErik Bartlett is a Cape Cod native and Boston-based actor/comedian\, circus performer\, and former professional cotton candy maker. Though classically trained\, he claims his real education came from Coney Island\, not theatre school. His lifelong dream of running away with the circus became reality when he toured with the oldest and one of the last remaining traditional American carnival sideshows. After honing his skills on the fairgrounds of the country\, he’s eager to perform his madcap blend of comedy\, circus\, and escapology for the hometown audiences of the Boston Fringe Festival! \nInstagram @ Bittertalker \nLocation: The Rockwell \nShow Times: \nSat May 16 @ 2:00 PM\nSun May 17 @ 3:20 PM \nSeeing more than one show\, think about the Festival Pass! SUMMARY:The Love Movements & Good Boy
DESCRIPTION:The Love Movements & Good Boy\n2 Shows in 1 Hour!\nThe Love Movements \nThe Ancient Greeks had 8 words for love. The Love Movements explores these 8 in dance. \nStorge [stôrge] family love\nPhilia [filia] brotherly love\, friend love\nLudus [looduz] playful\, flirtatious love\nEros [eroz] passionate love\nPragma [pragmah] longterm\, foundational love\nMania [mayneea] obsessive love\nPhilautia [filoshea] self-love\nAgape [agapay] universal\, self-less love \nConcept By: Deby Xiadani\nMusic by: Victor McSurely & Trucci\nAdditional Choreography by: Bryce Flint-Somerville\nDancers: Deby Xiadani & Ali O’Leary \nGood Boy \nGood Boy is a coming of age one-act musical about growing up trying to do everything right while quietly questioning who you’re allowed to be. Through original songs and personal storytelling\, the show follows a high-achieving teenager who believes that if he earns enough gold stars – good grades\, leadership roles\, extracurricular success – life will stay safe\, predictable\, and approved. But as new feelings begin to surface\, his carefully built sense of identity starts to shift in funny\, awkward\, and deeply relatable ways. \nMoving through moments like high school pressure\, Boy Scout trips\, early internet exploration\, and first experiences with attraction\, Good Boy uses humor\, nostalgia\, and honesty to explore what it means to grow up queer while trying to live up to expectations from family\, community\, and yourself. At its heart\, the show is about learning that being “good” and being authentic don’t always follow the same path. \nGood Boy is written and performed by Luke Fraser\, a performer\, writer and songwriter based in Boston and Los Angeles. Luke has trained and performed at Improv Asylum (Boston)\, Improv Boston (technically Cambridge) and Upright Citizens Brigade (NYC/LA). He is currently developing Good Boy as an original musical work. \n  \nLocation: The Rockwell \nShow Times: \nSat May 16 @ 3:20 PM\nSun May 17 @ 2:00 PM \nSeeing more than one show\, think about the Festival Pass! SUMMARY:Half-Orphan & Limit/Old Mother; Fugue
DESCRIPTION:Half-Orphan & Limit/Old Mother; Fugue\nHalf-Orphan: Like any great artist\, Kevin hopes to turn childhood grief into award-winning work. He hasn’t won any yet. But by digging up his childhood memories\, photos\, and even actual footage of his dad’s funeral he will win them soon. He can also prove with charts that this show is not tasteless. \n  \nLimit/Old Mother; Fugue \nLimit is the conversation between AI and humans\, who are at their limit. An asteroid is hurtling towards Earth. In order to save the world\, AI must use all the water on the planet to calculate an equation to move the asteroid off its path. Humans don’t think this is worth it\, but it might be too late to change AI’s mind. \nOld Mother; Fugue is the musical dialogue between a mother and a daughter who struggle to see eye to eye. They speak at each other\, to what end? \n  \nLocation: The Rockwell \nShow Times: \nSat May 16 @ 4:40 PM\nSun May 17 @ 12:40 PM \nSeeing more than one show\, think about the Festival Pass!
