SUMMARY:Kenny Raskin: Follow The Laugh
DESCRIPTION:Kenny Raskin: Follow The Laugh\n\nThis workshop is designed for those who yearn to be clowns\, or for those who just want to use these skills to enhance their acting chops. Clowns live in a world of spontaneity\, flexibility and distractibility. They follow their noses\, and the rest of their senses as well. This workshop is designed to help you find the part of yourself that connects you to your physicality and spontaneity\, sparking wonderfully creative ideas on stage. To create comedy\, one must create surprise.  To do that\, one must surprise oneself. My students initially work without thought\, without ideas\, but rather with their direct contact with the world.  In this way they learn to create accidents\, to see them coming — in a sense\, to make them intentional. We also learn to listen to the audience\, as they often tell the performer what is happening. That is why I tell my students to “follow the laugh!”  If they laugh\, something is worth exploring… \nSOCIAL MEDIA: Facebook: kenny.raskin.7 / Instagram: @kennyraskin / LinkedIn: kennyraskin \nINSTRUCTOR BIO: For the past forty years\, Kenny Raskin has made a name for himself worldwide as a leading physical comedian and teacher of clowning. He starred as the lead clown Everyman in Cirque du Soleil’s  NOUVELLE EXPERIENCE\, and was also featured in Cirque du Soleil’s 3D IMAX film entitled JOURNEY OF MAN\, and appeared as well as the Vaudeville Comedian in director Barry Levinson’s film\, LIBERTY HEIGHTS. \nKenny also originated the role of Lefou in Disney’s Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast.\nHe has also been a frequent player in the European Variete and television circuit\, performing in theaters such as the WINTERGARTEN VARIETE in Berlin\, APOLLO VARIETE in Dusseldorf\, the Prinzregenten Theater Munich\, and BBC television. \nKenny is presently the artistic director of the Boston based Medical Clown Troupe Hearts and Noses. \nDATES: December 12th & 13th\, 2026 \nTimes: \nCHECK-IN: 9:30 AM \nSTART: 10:00 AM \nEND: 3:45 PM \nCOST: $80/$125/$225 \nAge Limit: This workshop is 16+ \nRefund Policy: No refunds within 7 days of the workshop. \nADA Accessibility: The Rockwell is partially ADA Accessible with an elevator and restrooms in saloon wide enough for wheelchair use.

SUMMARY:Charles McBee: "You Had To Be There"
DESCRIPTION:Charles McBee: “You Had To Be There”\n\nSHOW DESCRIPTION: Step into the good old days and laugh your way through them. Comedian Charles McBee takes the stage for a full hour of sharp\, warm\, and wildly funny stand-up about love\, life\, and everything that made the 1900s… well\, the 1900s.\n\nAudiences can’t stop raving\, and it’s easy to see why. Charles brings the same razor-sharp wit that earned him a Writers Guild Award nomination and credits on the MTV Video Music Awards\, the Golden Globes\, and beyond. His knack for finding the comedy in then-versus-now has built him a devoted social media following — and now he’s bringing it all live. \nCome for the laughs. Stay for the memories. You really had to be there. \nARTIST BIO: Charles McBee is a NYC stand-up comedian\, writer\, and unapologetic 80s/’90s baby from Toledo\, Ohio. \nHe’s made three national appearances on Gotham Comedy Live\, was a standout on FOX’s Laughs and Punchline (Seasons 1 & 2)\, and has written for everything from VH1’s Hip Hop Honors to the 2020 VMAs and the 2021 Golden Globes. He most recently served as Head Writer for Comedy Central’s Hell of a Week with Charlamagne Tha God\, earning a Writers Guild Award nomination\, and was a creative consultant on Nick Cannon’s Wild’ N Out. \nCharles has also built a dedicated social media following with his hilarious takes on pop culture\, relationships\, and the beautiful chaos of growing up in the analog era. \nIf you’ve ever eaten a microwave dinner on a folding tray table\, feared getting caught in a game of freeze tag\, or lived through dial-up internet\, Charles has a joke for you. Come see why his fans keep coming back. \nARTIST SOCIALS: @charlesmcbee \n\n\nTimeline: \nDOORS: 6:15 PM \nSHOW: 7:00 PM \nAge Limit: This event is All Ages. \nID: Valid ID required for alcohol consumption. \nLimited Late Seating: Due to the architecture of our space\, the entrance is next to the stage and it is disruptive to the performer to enter late.
