SUMMARY:Acting with Heather Whitty

Being on the other side of the audition allows for actors to see what CD’s and Directors seek in a great audition and gain another view on how best to use their acting skills.

SUMMARY:Zach Zucker's Comedy Workshop -- PLUS 7:30pm SHOW TICKET!
DESCRIPTION:LISTEN FOR LAUGHS: CLOWN WORKSHOP with ZACH ZUCKER\nWednesday\, Sep 18\n12pm-4pm\nOften times we enter with such strong ideas that we forget about the most important thing in the room – the audience. We either go too fast without letting them join in or we do too much and scare them off. If you let them\, the audience will guide your creative process and tell you exactly what to do.\n\nIn this workshop we focus on reading the room by slowing down\, unpacking every moment\, and listening for the laughs to tell us where to go. Through a series of playful exercises\, games and improvised scenes\, you’ll be encouraged to take risks\, be impulsive\, leave your bad ideas at the door\, and organically build towards creating a repeatable routine onstage.\n\nThis class is for total beginners and experienced performers – you just gotta be cool with looking stupid.\n\nBIOGRAPHY\nZACH ZUCKER is an award-winning performer and producer who’s been touring the international comedy circuit for the past decade. He is the creator of Stamptown\, the alter-ego of New York’s greatest comedian Jack Tucker\, and one half of Norwegian-American clown duo\, Zach & Viggo. Zach has sold out shows at Netflix Is A Joke\, Just For Laughs\, Glastonbury\, Soho Theatre\, Edinburgh Fringe\, O2 Arena\, Comedy Central\, Melbourne International Comedy Festival\, the West End at The London Palladium and Off-Broadway at Soho Playhouse. As a producer he’s worked with acts such as Jordan Gray\, Randy Feltface\, Michelle Brasier\, BriTANicK\, Courtney Pauroso\, Martin Urbano\, Ike Ufomadu\, Riki Lindhome and many more\, with the production company receiving three Edinburgh Comedy Award Nominations and one MICF Best Show Nomination in the past two years. He is a graduate of École Philippe Gaulier in France\, frequently collaborates with funk-punk group\, Thumpasaurus\, and has taught clown workshops at UCB\, The Groundlings and Second City.\n\n\nACCOLADES\nNew York Times Top Comedy Pick 2024 (Jack Tucker)\nVulture’s Top Comedians You Should Know (2023)\nComedian’s Comedian Award\, Chortle Awards (Jack Tucker)\nTop Comedy Pick\, British Comedy Guide (Jack Tucker)\nTop 10 Shows of 2019\, Chortle (Jack Tucker)\nNew York Times Top Comedy Pick (Stamptown)\nEvening Standard Top Comedy Pick (Stamptown)\nBest Late Night Show In London\, Chortle Awards (Stamptown)\nBest Comedy Award\, Adelaide Fringe (Zach & Viggo)\nBest Comedy Award\, Brighton Fringe (Zach & Viggo)\nCritics Choice Award\, Brighton Fringe (Zach & Viggo)\n\n

SUMMARY:Mark Viera
DESCRIPTION:Mark Viera’s recent projects include the hit show “Laff Mobb’s Laff Tracks” on TruTV. Mark’s comedy was instrumental in the development of this show as his stand up comedy was used in the pilot episodes\, which landed him 14 different episodes. A sitcom based on Mark’s life was sold to Warner Bros and was in development with Fox in 2018 with George Lopez set as the Executive Producer. Mark has most recently been featured in his own Stand Up comedy special on HBO Latino’s hit show Entre Nos. He has guest starred on NBC’s award winning show 30 Rock and also starred on a Military Comedy Tour for 10 years that took him across the globe. Mark headlined the HA Comedy Festival Comedy Special “The Art Of Stand Up”which aired on HBO MAX summer of 2020. Mark’s latest Comedy Special “Mark My Words” is set to premier in the summer of 2024 on Amazon Prime and Tubi. \nInstagram \nTikTok \nBorn and raised in the Bronx New York\, Mark Viera became fascinated with comedy very early on. While Mark’s mom spent countless hours as a social worker to provide for her family\, Mark and his older brother would pass the time watching the popular TV shows of the 70’s and 80’s. He became so  engaged in the performances of his favorite comic personalities\, it didn’t take long before he began to emulate the characters he came to love. On any given night\, he would entertain his family with remarkably accurate portrayals from shows like Carol Burnett\, “Sanford and Son” and “Three’s Company.” As his career flourished\, Mark personalized his artistic passion and parlayed it into one of his greatest labors of love: A one-hour Showtime special aptly entitled “Tales of Nuyorican”. The show\, an homage to his upbringing and hilarious life experiences\, became an instant classic. With the success of Nuyorican and a sold-out tour with singer Marc Anthony firmly establishing him as a force to be reckoned with\, Mark\, a devoted family man with an altruistic nature seized the opportunity to give back\, first by performing on a comedy special for American Family Insurance. “Stand Up For Family\,” which was hosted by good friend and fellow comic Bill Bellamy\, became a benchmark for family friendly entertainment. Shows for the “Make a Wish Foundation” and the “VIP Drug Rehabilitation Centers” in his native Bronx\, as well as several command performances for our U.S military overseas accent his\nphilanthropic efforts. Mark made his network television debut on NBC’s Emmy award winning show\, “30 Rock\,” an opportunity that piqued the interest of the industry’s most prominent executives. The comic and businessman recently sold a sitcom based on his compelling life to Warner Bros. and\nFOX. The project\, which was Executive Produced by comedy legend George Lopez. \nMark is unfazed by his growing popularity and remains loyal to his New York roots. Known to his fans as the Latin Assassin\, he performs regularly at top comedy clubs including Caroline’s on Broadway and Gotham Comedy Club. He also headlines at Improv’s and FunnyBone Comedy Clubs nationwide. Mark was also hand picked to headline on several ships for Norwegian Cruise line. Mark has spent the last two years touring the nation with The New York Kings Comedy Tour. Mark’s numerous television credits include performances on the critically acclaimed “Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand-Up\,” Comedy Central’s “Russell Simmons Presents Stand-Up at the El \nRey\,” AXS TV’s “Gotham Comedy Live”. A completely live stand up performance\, BET’s “ComicView\, Comedy Centrals’ “Gabriel Iglesias Presents: Stand Up Revolution” and Mark’s most recent television appearances are several episodes of Byron Allen’s “Comics Unleashed”. Mark most recently was asked to join comic icon Gabriel Iglesias’s “Unity Through Laughter” world tour. Whether he’s talking about his crazy family\, his growing kids\, his beloved grandparents\, doing one of his dead-on impressions or joking about his life growing up in the Bronx\, Mark Viera takes his audience on a hilarious\, heartfelt journey\, finding enjoyment in the absurdities of life. \n  \nThis event is 21+  // Valid ID required for entry \nDoors 6:15 PM  \nShow 7:00 PM  \nCOMEDY & THEATER: UNFORTUNATELY\, THERE IS NO LATE SEATING. SUMMARY:Juniper Honey (All Ages)
DESCRIPTION:Juniper Honey is an indie-rock band out of California.  Original members Jake Hesse (lead vocals/guitar) and Donovan Hess (drums) began their journey together in 2020.  In the later months of 2022\, Jake and Don picked up guitarist Cason LeSueur and bassist Josh West to officially form Juniper Honey.  With a few homemade numbers already out\, the group immediately hit the studio and added four fresh sounding singles to their catalog.  Following their releases in 2023\, the guys stuffed into a minivan and took to the road to promote their new sound.  The band recently returned to the studio to record a soon to be released full length album before returning to the road. \nhttps://www.instagram.com/juniperhoneymusic/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y%3D \nThis event is All Ages  // Valid ID required for alcoholic beverages \nDoors 7:00 PM  \nShow 7:30 PM  \nShow will begin no later than 10 minutes of showtime. \nWheelchair Accessibility: Please call the host at (617) 628-4444 to let you in through the elevator in The Gorin Building.
