SUMMARY:Emily Nenni
DESCRIPTION:Emily Nenni\, w/ Dylan Earl\nEmily Nenni has a confession: she didn’t always plan on being a performing artist. “I thought I was just going to be a songwriter\,” she admits. Clearly\, life had something else in store. The singer and guitarist has emerged as one of the freshest and most electrifying voices in Nashville\, with a sound rooted in classic honky-tonk and spiked with serious country\, soul and rock ‘n’ roll fire\, and sweet-and-sassy lyrics that chronicle hard living\, hot nights\, heartbreak and other universal truths about the human condition. Over the past several years she’s enraptured audiences across Music City with sizzling sets in smoky bars and clubs\, honing her command of the stage\, perfecting her skills as a band leader and sharpening an already astute world view\, all of which are on full display on her newest studio album\, Drive & Cry. \nhttps://www.instagram.com/emily.nenni/ \n// \nDylan Earl \nI’m from where I woke up this morning. I write the songs that come to mind and struggle with the ones that don’t. I find humor in misconceptions and solace in laughter\, love in the street and fire in the eyes of the marginalized. I prefer facts over alternate facts. I’m here to shoot you straight\, although sometimes I fire from the hip.  \nI was born a Cajun in Lake Charles\, Louisiana at the end of the 1980s. When I was a boy\, I was naturalized by the Natural State\, then became a man. I plan to die in Arkansas. I dream of the raven riding thermals along the cliffs of the Ouachita. I’m blessed by the monks of Subiaco and silent with it’s hills. Sometimes my boots are tugged by the Calcasieu mud. A cold beer goes further than you think; “don’t give me two unless you’ve got 12 more” my buddy always says. I used to ride the levee at night and shoot at the moon. I used to run with the boys in Logan County\, that’s also in Arkansas. I used to hold my breath in church until I saw stars just to see if Jesus would come down off that cross and save me. I used to hide from my brother\, now I just hide from the cops. The sound of a dog drinking water is my favorite sound. I’ve never written all the songs I wish I had\, but I’ve got 3 albums you can find on me or the internet. I used to be in a band called Keyless Gentry…we did one show. I spent all my 20s sweating on guitars\, I hope to do it all my 30s. I spend most of my time behind a wheel\, getting to you.  \nGrowing up\, my mom played all her country tapes in our ’89 econoline. I love those songs almost as much as our memories.  \nIt was my mother\nWho first took me to the country\nI’m indebted to her\nNot only in Love\nBut also in Time  \nSay no to fascism \n-DEARL \nPresented by Get To The Gig & MassConcerts \nThis event is All Ages  // Valid ID required for alcohol consumption \nDoors 7:00 PM  \nShow 8:00 PM  \nREFUNDS DETERMINED BY GET TO THE GIG \nWheelchair Accessibility: Please call the host at (617) 628-4444 to let you in through the elevator in The Gorin Building.

SUMMARY:Boston Fringe - Fidget. Spinster.
DESCRIPTION:Boston Fringe presents Fidget. Spinster.\nFidget. Spinster. is an extended standup show that pulls its perspective on modern dating from research\, interviews with dating experts\, and stories from the frontlines – good\, bad\, and exhausting. \nThis funny\, insightful\, relatable\, and occasionally emotional show will appeal to fans of The New York Times’ Modern Love column\, Blythe Roberson’s How to Date Men When You Date Men\, and Lane Moore’s You Will Find Your People. \n  \nAfter years of writing about comedy\, Amma decided to take to the stage – on the nudge of a dare set for her by her podcast co-hosts. In the years since\, she’s developed an “anxious Black nerd” persona that creates a unique take on current events\, life as a thirtysomething\, and pop culture. Her strong writing and attentive timing have allowed her to work with comics like Eric Andre (Adult Swim\, ABC)\, Jay Jurden (The Problem with Jon Stewart)\, Leslie Liao (Netflix)\, and Mia Jackson (Comedy Central). \nThis event is All Ages\, suggested Age is 16+ // Valid ID required for alcohol consumption \nShow 1 – Monday May 5\, 8:10 pm\nShow 2 – Wednesday May 7\, 7:05 pm\nShow 3 – Sunday May 11\, 6:00 pm \nTickets $15 / Festival Pass $75 for entry to EVERY BOSTON FRINGE SHOW! \nNO REFUNDS. \nWheelchair Accessibility: Please call the host at (617) 628-4444 to let you in through the elevator in The Gorin Building.

SUMMARY:Boston Fringe: Rhymes with Orange // Infraordinary
DESCRIPTION:Boston Fringe presents\nLand Land La by Rhymes with Orange\nHave you ever glanced at a cup of water in a vulnerable\, permeable mood and thought: “god\, I’d love to breathe that”? This is a completely unheard of but\, for our purposes\, universal phenomenon which is caused by our oceanic origins as a species. Using state of the distant past techniques in aquatic stupidity\, we will stage the critical drama of our evolutionary past: the transition from sea to land. Land Land La is an epic-action-drama-improv spectacle of excited proportions in which you experience sea creatures experiencing an experience. \n  \nRhymes With Orange is a multimedia improv performance art collective from New York! You can find us on instagram at @rhymeswithorange_rmo. \nInfraordinary\nBy Elizabeth Stone  and Will Newschafer \nInfraordinary features four character-driven sketches\, each followed by a brief monologue that adds depth and continuity. SUMMARY:Boston Fringe - Wild Blue // SALVAGE
DESCRIPTION:Boston Fringe presents\nWild Blue\nBy Sky Nockels \nMany people are deeply frightened by the political state of the US\, but the 2024 election results were no surprise to transgender comedian Sky Nockels who grew up in South Dakota\, a mystical land reminiscent of the first 20 minutes of Wizard of Oz. Equal parts hilarious and harrowing\, Wild Blue is a short stand up special/manifesto about flyover states and why you should care about them. Hear strange tales about stranger characters and maybe learn a little something too. \nSky Nockels is a Boston-based Comedian\, Producer\, Writer\, and Activist. Follow her on insta at @nockel_sandwich and @11.11comedy \nSALVAGE\nBy Alexandria Nunweiler and Calvin Hitchcock \nIf your coach led you in a group prayer before a ball game\,\nOr you were cast as a donkey in your church’s Christmas pageant.\nIf you know who Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber are\,\nThen we have a show for you! \nSALVAGE is a dance / theater work-in-progress deconstructing the funny\, ridiculous\, harmful and beautiful practices of non-denominational American Christianity. It unpacks deep-seeded religious traumas with a smile as it strips consumerism\, perfectionism\, and white nationalism away from the faith itself. With direction and choreography by Alexandria Nunweiler and music by Calvin Hitchcock\, the show invites all of us to gather\, decipher\, and sew together the salvageable pieces of ourselves. \n  \nInstagram: @nunweilertanz \n  \nThis event is All Ages\, suggested Age is 18+ // Valid ID required for alcohol consumption \nEach show is around 25 minutes\, with a 5-10 minute transition\, for a total of 60 minutes  \nShow 1 – Saturday May 10\, 4:40 pm\nShow 2 – Sunday May 11\, 3:20 pm\n \nTickets are $15 total and provides entry for both shows for the full hour / Festival Pass $75 for entry to EVERY BOSTON FRINGE SHOW! \nNO REFUNDS. \nWheelchair Accessibility: Please call the host at (617) 628-4444 to let you in through the elevator in The Gorin Building.

SUMMARY:Boston Fringe - 50% Nonverbal // Me'leven
DESCRIPTION:Boston Fringe presents\n50% Nonverbal\nBy C. Neil Parsons \nInterdisciplinary performance artist C. Neil Parsons offers a solo variety show that is part storytelling\, part TEDtalk\, part musical act\, and part physical theatre. In between musical/choreographic interludes with a trombone\, Neil relates *mostly* true stories about his personal relationship to silence\, what happens when his sleep alter-ego takes over\, and why an experimental composer created music in pictures without telling anyone how it should sound. \n  \nBass trombonist\, dancer\, and actor C. Neil Parsons has spent a lifetime on stage\, appearing in his first professional theatre production at age three. Extensive touring has taken Neil to theaters and performing arts centers in 45 states and to dozens of Fringe Festivals across North America and Edinburgh\, Scotland. Neil teaches in the Theater\, Dance\, and Music divisions of Boston Conservatory at Berklee. \nMe’leven\nBy Grace Elin \nMe’leven was originally conceived as a short and performed on the Rockwell stage as part of the Boston variety show\, The Kerfuffle. After receiving such a positive response\, Grace Elin decided to expand the short to a full length one woman show for the Providence Fringe Festival last summer. Finding the balance between comedy and tragedy\, Grace explores a few intimate moments of her life through a handful or stories\, in hopes to inspire her audience to do the same. Sometimes life gives us the opportunity to take a leap\, and it is in those moments when we are truly channeling our purest joy\, our inner strength\, and our 11yr old self. Having Me’leven return to the stage where it was created is undoubtably another moment in Grace’s life that has turned to 11. \n  \nGrace Elin is a Boston native who dabbles in all facets of performance\, comedy\, and life. Find her currently exploring it all and sharing her discoveries @graceelinftw on Instagram. \n  \nThis event is All Ages\, suggested Age is 18+ // Valid ID required for alcohol consumption \nEach show is around 25 minutes\, with a 5-10 minute transition\, for a total of 60 minutes  \nShow 1 – Saturday May 10\, 3:20 pm\nShow 2 – Sunday May 11\, 12:40 pm\n \nTickets are $15 total and provides entry for both shows for the full hour / Festival Pass $75 for entry to EVERY BOSTON FRINGE SHOW! \nNO REFUNDS. \nWheelchair Accessibility: Please call the host at (617) 628-4444 to let you in through the elevator in The Gorin Building.
