SUMMARY:Mariposas Galácticas w Eight Foot Manchild
DESCRIPTION:Las Mariposas Galácticas is an 8-piece Cumbia Klezmer Punk band and cultural project based in Philadelphia\, PA. Combining band members’ South American and Jewish ancestries\, the band creates a unique diasporic sound that gets audiences everywhere dancing with rebellious joy. By honoring their Indigenous Andean musical ancestries\, blended together with punkified ancient Jewish melodies\, the band plays a mixture of original and classic tunes that span different languages\, cultures\, and genres. Las Mariposas have toured the east coast and collaborated with international acts such as the renowned Mexican rock band Los Cogelones and Argentinian Tropi-punk group Kumbia Queers. They have headlined the L.A.T.I.N. PunkFest in Philadelphia and NYC and continue to accompany their communities’ struggle for liberation everywhere from prominent stages to cultural\, activist and community spaces. \nMariposas Galacticas IG \n  \nEight Foot Manchild is a self-dubbed “doombrass” band\, with a sound that combines elements of doom metal\, funk\, and psych rock\, featuring an electrified horn section (tuba\, trombone\, bari sax) that plays through effects pedals. They strive to find a sonic crossroads somewhere between Electric Wizard\, Budos Band\, King Crimson\, and Wu-Tang Clan\, writing tunes inspired by everything from existentialism and absurdity to classic kung fu and Godzilla movies. \nInstagram – Eight Foot Manchild \nhttps://eightfootmanchild.bandcamp.com/ \nThis event is All Ages  // Valid ID required for alcohol consumption \nDoors 7:00 PM  \nShow 8:00 PM  \nShow will begin no later than 15 minutes after showtime. \nNO REFUNDS 24 HOURS BEFORE SHOWTIME  \nWheelchair Accessibility: Please call the host at (617) 628-4444 to let you in through the elevator in The Gorin Building.

SUMMARY:Juniper Honey (All Ages)
DESCRIPTION:Juniper Honey is an indie-rock band out of California.  Original members Jake Hesse (lead vocals/guitar) and Donovan Hess (drums) began their journey together in 2020.  In the later months of 2022\, Jake and Don picked up guitarist Cason LeSueur and bassist Josh West to officially form Juniper Honey.  With a few homemade numbers already out\, the group immediately hit the studio and added four fresh sounding singles to their catalog.  Following their releases in 2023\, the guys stuffed into a minivan and took to the road to promote their new sound.  The band recently returned to the studio to record a soon to be released full length album before returning to the road. \nhttps://www.instagram.com/juniperhoneymusic/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y%3D \nThis event is All Ages  // Valid ID required for alcoholic beverages \nDoors 7:00 PM  \nShow 7:30 PM  \nShow will begin no later than 10 minutes of showtime. \nWheelchair Accessibility: Please call the host at (617) 628-4444 to let you in through the elevator in The Gorin Building.
