SUMMARY:Emma Willmann at The Rockwell (All Ages)
DESCRIPTION:  \nEmma Willmann is one of New York City’s top comedians\, and perhaps one of the only dyslexic-gender-wiggly-comics-with-ADHD from Blue Hill\, Maine. In the third grade\, Mrs. Weller would bribe Emma with the chance to tell a story at the end of every class if Emma promised to stop talking to the other classmates. Now\, Emma gets to tell stories nightly at The Comedy Cellar\, on Netflix’s: The Comedy Line Up\, Comedy Central\, and is one of the few comics ever to have multiple appearances on The Late Show with Stephan Colbert. All of which has earned Emma a spot on Caroline’s 10 Funniest Comics\, Just For Laughs: New Faces\, and TimeOut’s 10 Funniest Women in NYC. Emma’s mom is “really proud of all of this but doesn’t like comedy.” \nAdditionally\, Emma is an actor and writer best known for playing the role of Beth on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and also featured on Paramount Plus’s The Good Fight\, Judd Apatow’s Crashing\, MTV\, and TruTV. SUMMARY:A Tale of Two Titties (All Ages)
DESCRIPTION:A stand-up/storytelling show about one woman’s journey with breast cancer…with an accompanying slideshow that includes drawings of boobs. \nComedian Julia Johns was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022\, and amid the challenges of her double mastectomy\, chemotherapy and radiation therapy\, she found solace in writing and performing comedy about it. She found humor in cancer\, and set out to make other people see it too. In her one-woman show\, she takes the audience on her journey from finding a lump to survivorship\, and everything in between\, all while poking fun at her experience. Did you know chemo also makes your pubic hair fall out? Hey\, sounds like this show is also educational!  There is an accompanying slideshow that includes photos\, Julia’s artwork (drawings of boobs!)\, and a little medical information. “A Tale of Two Titties” leaves audiences uplifted and inspired\, proving that even in the darkest of times\, there’s always room for laughter. \nArtist Bios & Social Media  \nJulia Johns is a stand up comedian\, writer\, actor\, and illustrator living in Los Angeles\, after honing her comedy skills in New York City for ten years. She performs stand up comedy all over the country\, and produced several shows in New York. \nIn February 2023\, Julia sold out a one woman show at the Broadwater Theater\, and then at Union Hall in Brooklyn in June. Previously\, she appeared in Nickelodeon’s Shorts Showcase\, hosted a live game show app called WTF\, was a contributor to someecards\, a contributing writer for MTV’s Girl Code\, and was a member of the sketch group All Female Reboot. She has been seen on Dr. Oz\, IFC\, and in a Sunsweet commercial\, where she drank too much prune juice. DESCRIPTION:“Men\, come inside of me” is a comedy show starring Toni Nagy where she becomes the men that have come inside of her – both metaphorically and literally. Toni embodies these men\, and then plays with their bodies to better understand why they had twisted her limbs and split her in half. At times Toni sheds the skin of men\, only to peel back the layers of her own heart and expose her soul. To seduce the audience\, Toni fingers her way through a variety of comedic methods including stand-up\, interactive audience engagement\, clown\, storytelling\, and dance as she paws at the cultural programming of gender dynamics. As Toni deconstructs her relationship to masculinity\, she also constructs “the man” who lives inside of her. DESCRIPTION:  \n\nAbout this event\n\n\n\n\nBIO \nTJ (Tanael Joachim) is a Haitian born stand-up comedian who is currently based in New York City. TJ has a very laid back\, smooth\, and conversational style. He jokes about race\, society’s idiosyncrasies\, and the inherent contrast between life in Haiti and America. He has made appearances on Gotham Comedy Live (AXS TV) and Good Day New York (FOX). \nTJ is a paid regular at the Comedy Cellar and Gotham Comedy Club in NYC. He has performed all over the world. He recently returned from a small European tour where he performed in English and French. \nHe has opened for Colin Quinn\, Janelle James\, Maria Bamford and Sean Patton. He has also been a featured performer at numerous festivals like Netflix Is A Joke Festival\, SF Sketchfest and the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival. \nTJ is also an Op-Ed contributor for The New York Times.
