SUMMARY:Red Nose Clown Workshop with Mycah Hogan
DESCRIPTION:Red Nose Clown Workshop with Mycah Hogan\n\nTiny Bullseye: Discovering the Red Nose Clown\nTHIS IS A 2-DAY WORKSHOP! You must be available for both days\n\nFor as long as there have been humans\, there have been clowns\, and this new and exciting workshop with Mycah Hogan invites you to discover your unique clown through movement\, improvisation\, and the profound depth of play. Through a combination of somatic exploration and opportunities to wear “the smallest mask in the world” (the red nose)\, participants will uncover their unique individual movement patterns and learn to amplify the physical and emotional themes that already inhabit the body. This process reveals the traces of a “personal clown”: a comic persona that is rooted in your individual truth while touching the timeless nature of laughter.Open to all—actors\, improvisers\, directors\, comedians\, dancers\, aerialists\, teachers\, facilitators\, and anyone curious about the poetry of the ridiculous. No clown experience necessary. Come with a willingness to be vulnerable\, to be incredibly stupid\, to be nothing\, to be everything\, and to explore the stuff that makes us human. We’ll explore clown as a state and the fundamentals of performance while engaging with group dynamics\, physicality\, and the art of collaborative creation. This is clown as both artistic practice and personal journey—a dance of resilience\, a celebration of what makes you uniquely\, foolishly\, beautifully you.\n\nBio\nMycah Hogan is a clown\, educator\, and community organizer. He is a performer\, director\, and one of the most innovative young teachers in the world for clown\, mask\, and physical acting. On faculty at Brown-Trinity Repertory’s MFA Program and NYU’s International Theatre Workshop\, he teaches in Amsterdam\, New York\, Philadelphia\, and in his home city of Providence\, where he is committed to generating a legendary clown scene by providing affordable\, conservatory-level actor training to the next generation of innovative theater artists.\n\n\n\n\nThis event is All ages\, though recommended for 16+\n \nThis is a 2-day workshop and you must be available for both days. \nDoors 9:30 AM  \nStart 10:00 AM  \nEnd 4:00 PM  \nWheelchair Accessibility: Please call the host at (617) 628-4444 to let you in through the elevator in The Gorin Building.

SUMMARY:Clowning & Nonsense w/ Daniel Maseda
DESCRIPTION:CLOWNING & NONSENSE\nwith Daniel Maseda\nDescription\nSome clowns don’t speak. Others can’t help but run their mouths. \nIn this experimental clown workshop\, we will explore absurd language as an avenue for play and discovery. Through clowning games and improvisational exercises that use invented words\, dubbing\, translation\, babbling\, and sound effects\, we will explore what special kinds of fun can emerge when we turn our legibility down to level zero while keeping our dignity turned up to level 10. How fun can it be to make no sense? \nOpen to performers of all backgrounds and experience levels. Participants will be given on-the-fly feedback throughout the workshop\, while also being asked to work quickly and embrace moments of uncertainty—so the more ready you are to dive in\, the more we can play\, fail\, and discover together as a group. Come mess around! \nBio\nDaniel Maseda is a performer and teaching artist from Washington\, DC who makes ridiculous work. He is currently touring his show “BE GOOD!” WITH PAULETTE\, which played at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe (★★★★\, Pick of the Fringe) and was awarded the inaugural Fringie for best Clown performance at the 2025 Philadelphia Fringe. He is a graduate of École Philippe Gaulier. \nWorkshop Info \nDate: Sat 1/31/2026 \nDoors: 10:30am\nTime: 11am-3pm \nCost: $65 / $80 / $95 \nCapacity: 10-15 participants \nAges: 16+ due to potentially explicit language \nElevator Entrance: Enter the street entrance for The Rockwell / Saloon – Before going down the stairs\, THERE IS A DOOR ON THE RIGHT that says “ELEVATOR ENTRANCE” in small white letters. Enter into the mailroom and there is an elevator. Take that to “B” for BASEMENT. Proceed out of the white and wood foyer past the coat racks to the HOST STAND. Proceed right for The Rockwell and left for Saloon.
