In addition to the basics of yes-anding and supporting our teammates\, the technical focus of the workshop will be on combining high-energy performance and stakes with down-to-earth groundedness and scenework. \nThis workshop is taught by Kate Sisk\, who has been improvising for about 14 years. Kate is an alumnus of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater NY. Kate was a house team performer on Harold Night at the UCB and studied under Will Hines\, Shaun Diston\, Vince Moore\, Lou Gonzalez\, Sebastian Conelli\, and more. Kate is also a stand up comic\, has contributed for The Onion\, and formerly co-hosted the podcast We’re Having Gay Sex. You can find Kate @thekatesisk on all platforms. Check out Kate’s headlining stand up show at The Rockwell on Friday\, April 5th! \n3:00-5:00pm\nIntro to Stand Up with Kate Sisk: \nThis workshop is for beginners very early in their stand up journeys\, or even people who have never done stand up before! We will learn about joke structure\, stagecraft\, tools for getting better\, combating stage fright\, professionalism\, and how to break into a local stand up scene. There is no need to prepare any material for this workshop. \nKate Sisk is a touring stand up who recently appeared on Comedy Central. Kate was a finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival and has also performed in the HBO Women in Comedy Festival\, Limestone Comedy Fest\, New York Comedy Festival\, and many more. Kate performs in New York City at New York Comedy Club\, Stand Up New York\, Sesh Comedy Club\, and other local clubs. She’s performed in nationally recognized festivals around the country\, released digital and physical albums\, and has also toured the US and Europe as a musician.
